Top Award for stock horse

A STALLION from Wallen's Doongara Stud at Lockyer Waters recently received one of the most prestigious awards available for a stock horse in Australia. Geoff Wallen's four-year-old Australian Stock Horse, Regal Power (pictured), received the coveted Prince of Wales Award for the best stock horse of 2000 and it is believed to be the youngest horse to achieve the honour. The black/brown stallion at 15.1 hands high also took out the 2001 south-east Queensland three-year-old Futurity series. At the national titles at Scone, Regal Power was placed third in the led, equal first in the hack, third in the time trial and first in the pleasure hack stallion. He was judged the champion working stallion and champion plea-sure hack. Geoff and Regal Power then toom out the award for high point horse and rider. In some more good news for the region, Jenny Francis' Time Warp from Walloon won the Commonwealth Bank Star of the Year Award after being judged the year's best stock horse ambassador.
